Situation

First Horizon National Corporation, the holding company for First Tennessee Bank, is a premier financial services company with a long history of success and traditions dating back to 1864. It is one of the top 50 largest bank holding companies in the U.S with 5,000 employees in the U.S. and abroad.

3pt Graphics played a major role in creating and installing all interior signage for the recent renovation of First Horizon’s 24 story corporate headquarters including:

  • 650 Interior ADA Signs (with 200 Non glass signs created to compliment glass signs)
  • Elevator Lobby Signs
  • Corridor Wayfinding & Room Identification
  • Recording Studio Sign using CeeLite
  • Stainless Steel FTB Letters for Entrance
  • Stainless Steel Elevator Jambs
  • Stair Interior& Exit Signs & Evacuation Maps
  • Window Graphics
  • Conference Room Signs & Restroom Identification

Challenge

3pt Graphics was asked to create new technology glass signage to First Horizon’s specifications after the original vendor’s prototypes were found unsatisfactory. The project was behind on an already tight schedule which included installing signage in stainless steel frames on each floor upon its renovation completion.

Solution

After contacting several specialized vendors, a Starphire glass production method was chosen for its highly visible lettering. One piece seamless frames were painted brushed aluminum and the glass was glued into the frames with a special product that does not show residue. The 3pt Graphics team coordinated the on-schedule installation with the facilities managers on each floor upon its renovation completion.

Evaluation

The entire project was completed with state-of-the-art workmanship and painstaking project management. As a result, the client was thoroughly satisfied with the signage quality, cost and timing. First Tennessee was able to avoid time loss by its employees and any inconvenience to its customers. To quote First Tennessee, “3pt Graphics really stays with a job and makes sure everything goes smoothly, and if there’s any problem along the way, regardless of its source, they jump in and take care of it so the job never gets off track.” (See 3pt Graphics Portfolio for First Horizon/First TN signage.)

Situation

The Tennessee Air National Guard (TANG) 164th Airlift Wing is located at the Memphis Air National Guard Base at Memphis International Airport. The 155th Airlift Squadron, a subordinate unit, flies the C-5 Galaxy and a recent major renovation project consisted of eight buildings including the C-5 hangar. Alberici Constructors, Inc., a diversified company that is consistently ranked among the top 50 construction companies in the US by Engineering New-Record managed the project along with a construction manager and five independent contractors who were each responsible for at least one building. There were very specific signage needs for durable materials, and stringent requirements to be followed for installation.

Challenge

The challenge was supplying a variety of custom sign types to strict specifications including ADA signs with the TANG logo, highly visible numbers for the buildings and a monument sign for the entrance to be used for the grand opening. Close communication and coordination with all subcontractors for installation was a must.

Solution

3pt Graphics constructed signage to TANG’s specifications, worked closely with each building’s contractor and ensured the timely delivery of signage to each location. To meet the requirements of non-fading building address numbers and maximum visibility, 3pt Graphics created 3’ tall anodized aluminum numbers with a lifetime warranty. For hangars, the solution was baked enamel painted signs, created to last a lifetime. A hand placed digital decal provided the solution to including the TANG logo on each ADA sign. A temporary monument sign that could be moved after the grand opening was created and mounted to an existing brick wall and column.

Evaluation

3pt Graphics provided detail-oriented project management and creative solutions to demanding and varied signage requirements. Alberici Constructors, Inc. wrote, “I want to take a moment to thank you for your professionalism and the work you did on the C-5 Hangar Project. The quality of work you and your installation subcontractors provided was excellent and performed in a professional manner, and I would not hesitate recommending or using 3pt Graphics on another project.”

Situation

AutoZone is the nation’s leading retailer and a leading distributor of automotive replacement parts and accessories with more than 4,800 stores in the US, Puerto Rico, and Mexico. 3pt Graphics was contacted by AutoZone to develop solutions to fabricate and install signage and displays on eight floors of the corporate headquarters. AutoZone needed one company who could create and produce over 850+ components for the project, including:

  • Presidents Club Wall
  • Extra Miller Wall
  • Corporate Artwork for Interior Walls
  • Starters Club Wall
  • Posters
  • Fabric Banners
  • Elevator Decal Graphics
  • Large Format Photographic Prints Mounted to Gator Foam Boards

Challenge

The dated, original large format graphics located throughout the building were inconsistent in appearance, size and shape. The art had been in place for some time due to the costly, and in some cases, unstable installation methods used which were causing panels to separate from the display cases. In addition, the elevator displays were flaking and being damaged by traffic and by people touching them.

Solution

The 3pt Graphics solutions were to create high-quality, uniform sized, photographic images from photography and artwork provided. For added flexibility, over 100 pieces of corporate artwork for the interior walls were installed with museum mounts, allowing the customer to rearrange the displays throughout the building without need for an outside source to re-hang the graphics. In the elevators, the solution was to apply a polycarbonate matte lamination to the graphics as a protective finish, making it difficult to peel, scratch or separate the graphic decal.

Evaluation

The carefully coordinated photos, graphics and artwork enhance the appearance of the corporate offices for employees and visiting guests. Artwork can be rotated to give a fresh look to the displays, and the elevator decal graphics no longer flake or peel, AutoZone had this praise to offer, “It is important to me to know I can count on someone in the clutch. Working with 3pt Graphics, I always knew they would be available to handle any last minute challenges without hesitation.”
